Enjoy the warmth and hospitality of traditional Karelian village and the adrenaline of dog-sledding in one day. Kinerma is an ancient Karelian village situated 100 km from Petrozavodsk. Just 2 hours by car and you will plunge into a completely different world of wooden houses and cozy chapels. The whole territory of the village is considered to be a monument of the Russian wooden architecture. You will get acquainted with Nadezhda, local resident of Kinerma Village, who will show you the village, teach you how to bake Karelian pies and treat you to lunch. In the afternoon you will enjoy a 1 km dog sled ride in the fabulous Karelian pine forest and a cup of hot tea in the traditional hut covered with reindeer skins.
11:30 Meeting with Nadezhda, local resident of Kinerma Village. Excursion around the village. Lunch in the village with dishes of Karelian cuisine.
13:30 Arrival at the husky farm. Excursion in the husky farm. you will be introduced to the dogs so that you become familiar with them. Your musher will tell you a lot of interesting facts and information about the work which is involved in their maintenance and about their nature. Instructions and safety measures. Once you are equipped with a special belt, you will go on an exciting trek 3-km trek with huskies in the Karelian pine forest. Important!Trekking is possible only when the temperature is below 23 degrees Celsius. If the temperature is higher, trekking will be replaced with professional photo session with huskies. Afterwards you will taste Karelian tea with berries and herbs with pies in a traditional hut covered with reindeer skins.
