This 3-day tour offers a great opportunity to enjoy the pristine Karelian nature, incredible wooden architecture, and the best of Karelian active routes.
07:00/ 08:55 Meeting with the guide. Transfer to the restaurant. Breakfast.
City tour of Petrozavodsk, which will end on the Onego Lake Embankment. The guide will help you board the hydrofoil but will not accompany you to Kizhi.
11:30 Departure for Kizhi Island by hydrofoil (1 hour 15 minutes).
12:45 Excursion in the Kizhi State Open-Air Museum of Wooden Architecture. Boxed lunch.
16:45 Trip back by hydrofoil to Petrozavodsk.
18:15 Arrival in Petrozavodsk. Accommodation at a hotel in Petrozavodsk. Free time.
09:30 Breakfast. Transfer to the husky farm (35 km from Petrozavodsk).
10:30 Excursion in the husky farm. The musher will acquaint you with the history and character of the breed. Instructions and safety measures. Every member of the trekking group will get an ”own“ dog to get acquainted with. Huskies are the most human-friendly dogs in the world, so it won't take long to make friends with them. The trail is about 3 km long and goes through the picturesque Karelian pine forest. Hot tea with biscuits afterwards.
13:00 Getting equipped and meeting with our quad instructor. After briefing and safety measures we start our 30-km quad ride. You will enjoy this off-road adventure in the Karelian forest, which usually includes some mud puddles, ruggedness, speed, and a lot of fun.
Lunch in a traditional hut covered with reindeer skins.
17:00 Transfer to Petrozavodsk. Free time upon arrival. Night in Petrozavodsk.

09:00 Meeting with the jeep instructors. Each jeep will take 2 persons. Transfer to Kondopoga to visit the ancient Church of Assumption. Built in the 18th century the church is the real gem of Russian wooden architecture. It is the highest wooden church in Karelia. Situated on the shore of the Onego lake, it resembles a candle from afar. After the excursion we head to the Kivach Nature Reserve.
12:30 Excursion in the Kivach Nature Reserve. You will get acquainted with the second highest plain waterfall in Europe and typical and rare Karelian plants. The eco system of the Kivach Nature Reserve is unique. Apart from the picturesque landscapes you will enjoy its crystal clear air.
14:00 Picnic on the way and then transfer to Girvas. After a short briefing you will try yourself in the off-road ride. In the past there was an ancient volcano in this area. Till today you can see traces of lava on the rocks. Girvas is a popular area in Karelia for off-road jeep competition. We will try several landscapes, go up and down sand dunes, cross the Suna River, and go over rocks.
17:00 Our next stop is in the first Russian spa, founded by Peter the Great in the 18th century. Till today its waters rich with iron heal from various diseases. You will taste this water from each spring. On our way back to Petrozavodsk we will make a final stop near Sampo Mountain. This is a hill from which you get a splendid panorama of Karelian taiga.
